Network Video Recorders (NVRs)

An NVR is a software program that records video data onto a mass storage device, often a dedicated device or server with an embedded operating system. NVRs are usually found in an IP-based video surveillance system.

Digital Video Recorders (DVRs)

DVRs are essentially the same as NVRs, but they have a direct connection to the cameras rather than using the internet to connect. DVRs are typically found deployed in an analog camera surveillance system.
